Hidden unemployment describe those people who would actually like to work (and would take a job if offered), but who are not classified as by the ABS because they are not seeking . In contrast, underemployment (also referred to as unemployment) refers to those people who are working fewer hours than they would like to work (e.g. a time worker wanting to work full time). The key difference between the two is that those in the pool of hidden unemployed are neither in employment nor in the force, whereas those underemployed are employed and part of the labour force.
